Wiltshire Trained Bands

The Wiltshire Trained Bands of 1638 consisted of 2,400 men armed with 1,285 muskets and 1,115 corslets (body armour, signifying pikemen). They also mustered 30 lancers and 126 light horse.

In 1651 the Wiltshire militia was ordered to rendezvous at Gloucester to hold the city during the Worcester campaign.
