Notes
During 1643 Ashburnham’s consisted of a troop of dragoons. At some stage they appear to have upgraded themselves to horse. Ashburnham was at Wareham and Portland though it’s uncertain whether his horse were.

SP23.175.421 Extract The humble petition of Henrie Coker of Hermitage in the County of Dorset Gent, Sheweth that hee havinge ye Comand of a Troope of horse in ye Regiment of Colonell Ashbourneham in ye County of Dorset did about two yeares since quitt ye service . That on ye 2nd of July 1645 ye petitioner made his address to this honourable comittee to make his Composition for his sayd delinquency att which time all the estate of ye petitioner lay wholly under ye command and poeer of ye enemy.
