Notable Officers
Sir William Fairfax
Sir William Fairfax was a nephew of Ferdinando, Lord Fairfax. He was killed leading his cavalry regiment at Montgomery in 1644.
Colonel Thomas Morgan
According to Parliamentary Army Chaplains by Anne Laurence (Suffolk 1990), Thomas Morgan may have been given command of the regiment after Sir William Fairfax was killed leading his regiment of horse at Montgomery. Possibly it was reduced into Colonel Thomas Morgan’s Regiment of Dragoons??
