- May 10th: Houghton commissioned in London.
- May 24th: Regiment raised in Staffordshire to a strength of 400+ men
- July 6th: Burton on Trent stormed by Royalists, Houghton taken prisoner, regiment dispersed.
1644
- Easter day: Houghton released, claim for pay ends.
