- September: Campbell commissioned colonel of a regiment of dragoons to be raised in Perthshire
- December: Perthshire promises 100 armed dragoons rather than the 200 horses agreed earlier

- February to April: Quartered at Dumbarton
- April: Ordered to help in grain collection
- April: 80 men detached to Little Cumbrae island to reinforce Viscount Montgomery
- May to June: Quartered in Paisley and Clackmannanshire
