Nottingham Trained Bands

The Nottingham Trained Bands of 1638 consisted of 407 men armed with 282 muskets and 125 corslets (body armour, signifying pikemen). They also mustered 50 cuirassiers and 10 dragoons.

In March 1640 it was ordered that Trained Band men should be shipped to Newcastle for service against the Scots: Nottingham 300. to be shipt the tenth of June at Grimsby, to be at the General Rendezvouz the twenty seventh of May, to march thence the sixth of June.1).

On 11th September 1642 King Charles disbanded the Nottingham Trained Band and confiscated their weapons.
