Glamorgan Trained Bands

The Glamorgan Trained Bands of 1638 consisted of 400 men armed with 200 muskets and 200 corslets (body armour, signifying pikemen). They also mustered 36 horse.

By 1651 the militias of the South Welsh counties appear to have been combined, with the South Wales militia being ordered to rendezvous at Gloucester to hold the city during the Worcester campaign.
