-Sheweth that your petitioner served your late father of blessed memory and your Majesty from the beginning of the warres and since being Capt: of a Troope of Horse and afterwardes of a Company of Foote in the Island of Syllie,​after the rendition your petitioner suffered long imprisonment and had lost his life had hee not strangely escaped by leaping over the Mount walls from whence hee went to the Isle of Jersy and remained till the rendition thereof.+
