Notes

This regiment of horse never appears to have been satisfactorily completed and, with both Mazieres’ troop and Captain Peter Balloon’s troop accused of indiscipline, appears to have achieved little before it was disbanded.

Mazieres

Colonel Mazieres was a Frenchman and member of Pym’s Council of War. In April 1644 he left military service and in May 1645 was given leave to return to France.
