William Grey, 1st Lord Grey of Wark

Appointed Major General of the Eastern Association on 20th December 1642, in April 1643 he led a brigade to support Essex at the siege of Reading, which remained with Essex's army until the July. In July he refused to be sent as an envoy to the Scots, so was dismissed and imprisoned by Parliament.
