Notes

According to his claim for pay (NA SP28/258/290) Freeman served in the garrisons of Hereford, Gloucester and Tewkesbury between the 27th September 1642 and the 16th March 1643 at which point he became a Capt of Horse in the Earl of Stamford’s Regiment of Horse.
