- February: Formed from the Earl of Dalhousie’s Regiment of Horse as an independent troop of the Scots New Model Army under Lt Col Sir Mungo Murray

- May: Murray supports the Engagement and is made Colonel of Dumfriesshire Horse
- September: Battle of Stirling
- September: Disbanded after the Treaty of Stirling
