Crawford served as Major General of the Earl of Manchester’s infantry in the Parliamentarian forces, but returned to Scots service instead of joining the New Model Army. His troop of horse served with him at the siege of Hereford, where he was killed in action. Likely it was reduced into other cavalry regiments soon after.
