 +Stewart’s regiment were destroyed at Dunbar, but had left a detachment of one company at Edinburgh Castle, that was besieged until the December.

 +=====Coats, Flags and Equipment=====
 +Flags of the regiment were captured at Dunbar. The Colonel’s is white with a large three-towered castle on a rock, the motto //COVANANT FOR RELIGION KING AND KINGDOMES// surrounded by a wreath, with the crest of an arm and sword. The Lt Col’s was red with a similar castle , motto and wreath, but no rock and a crest of a quill and bible with the motto //EXVRGO//. One was plain red. The remainder had a red field, white saltire in a canton and some had additional yellow stars, with the inscription //COVENANT FOR RELIGION KING AND KINGDOMES//​.((Stuart Reid's //Scots Armies of the 17th Century 2: Scots Colours// Partizan Press 1988)) ​
