-=====Coats and Flags=====+A history of the unit is shown in Edward M. Furgol’s //A Regimental History of the Covenanting Armies 1639-1651// Edinburgh, 1990. ISBN 0 85976 194 0
 +=====CoatsFlags & Equipment=====
 +The regiment was likely dressed in ubiquitous Scots hodden grey with blue bonnets. Reid has identified the regiment's flags under Baillie at Preston as having a blue field with a half yellow (sinister) and half white (dexter) saltire with in the centre a green wreath enclosing a red star. Companies seem to have been distinguished by the number of stars as flags with 3 and 5 were also captured. The inscription reads //Couenant for Religion King and Kingdoms//((Stuart Reid's //Scots Armies of the 17th Century 2: Scots Colours// Partizan Press 1988 ISBN 094652550 1))
