A history of the unit is shown in Edward M. Furgol’s A Regimental History of the Covenanting Armies 1639-1651 Edinburgh, 1990. ISBN 0 85976 194 0

Furgol suggests that the unit might have fought at Dunbar.

This man may be Archibald Douglas of Dornoch, a Dumfriesshire family.
Archibald was the son of Sir Archibald Douglas, Knight of Dornoch, himself the 3rd son of Sir William Douglas, 1st Earl of Queensberry

Thanks for the information williamd, I'll add it in above, must admit I know nothing about this unit apart from brief info in Furgol
