Notes

In June 1647 Westmeath's regiment encountered a cattle-raiding party of horse and foot, captured the foot but then had to kill them when counter-attacked by the horse. Perhaps they were brigaded with Angus MacDonald’s ‘redshanks’ at Dungan’s Hill.
