 +=====Notes=====
 +
 +A history of the regiment is given in //The Regimental History of Cromwell's Army// by Sir Charles Firth and Godfrey Davies, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1940.
 +
 +Colonel Robert Gibbon raised a regiment in 1650 that served in England, probably fighting at the Battle of Worcester in 1651. They were disbanded the following month.
 +
 +In 1656 Gibbon raised another regiment, the majority of which were sent to Flanders, forming part of the garrison of Mardyke over the winter of 1657 to 1658. In 1658 five companies fought under Turenne at the Battle of the Dunes and in 1659 the regiment mostly returned to England. The Duke of Buckingham was briefly appointed colonel, before the regiment was disbanded in October 1660
